US Tax Filing Notifications: How We Remind Clients of Every Deadline

Never miss a US deadline again. The key federal and state dates for foreign-owned companies across the year, and how UCB's WhatsApp and email reminder system works.

When a foreign-owned company gets into trouble with the IRS or a state, it is rarely because the owner chose not to file. It is because nobody reminded them, and the deadline passed while they were busy running the business from another time zone.

This page explains the dates that matter through the year and how our reminder system makes sure you never miss one.

Why reminders matter so much for non-residents

  • The penalties are large. A missed Form 5472 for a foreign-owned LLC can cost $25,000. See the $25,000 penalty.
  • The rules are unfamiliar. Many owners do not know their LLC has to file even with no income.
  • Mail goes to the USA. Official letters arrive at a US address, not your home.
  • State deadlines differ. Annual reports are often due in the company's anniversary month, not at a fixed date.

What each reminder includes

Every reminder is short and practical:

  • what is due and the exact date,
  • what we need from you, as a checklist,
  • what happens if you are not ready, for example an extension, and
  • how to send documents securely.

How you receive them

By WhatsApp and email, from our team. You can reply directly with questions or documents, and a person answers, not a bot.

Federal deadlines in brief

  • Form 5472 with pro forma 1120 (foreign-owned single-member LLCs): April 15, extendable to October 15. See Form 5472 explained.
  • Form 1065 (multi-member LLCs): March 15, extendable to September 15. See Form 1065 with foreign partners.
  • Form 1120 (corporations): April 15, extendable to October 15.

State deadlines in brief

  • Wyoming: annual report on the first day of the anniversary month.
  • Delaware: LLC annual tax by June 1; corporation franchise tax and report by March 1.
  • Florida: annual report between January 1 and May 1.
  • Arizona and New Mexico: no annual report for LLCs.
  • Other states: vary; we track yours.

See annual requirements for a foreign-owned LLC.

What happens if you are not ready

If your documents are not ready close to a deadline, we file an extension on time where one is available, then complete the return before the extended deadline. Remember that an extension gives more time to file, not to pay; see tax extensions explained.
